It’s Official: A Brand-New Human Organ Has Been Classified

Recent research has revealed that our body has a new extra organ that we failed to discover all these years. Medical experts have now classified this brand new organ, and it’s shocking that it was right there in side our digestive system, performing its duties, and we had no idea!

Medical researchers have managed to obtain insight about the structure and location of this new organ, however, they are still struggling to understand its functions and necessity. However, they strongly believe that understanding and studying this organ can help create more effective treatments for several digestive and abdominal ailments.

This new organ inside the digestive system has been given the name of mesentery, and for years, researchers thought that it consisted of several fragmented and separate parts. However, recent experimentations and examinations have negated such beliefs and revealed that the mesentery is one continuous organ. This new revelation has been classified and updated under the classification of this new organ published in the The Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology.

Dr. J Calvin Coffey, a prominent researcher at the University Hospital Limerick, Ireland, was the first to discover the existence of the mesentery. And he, along with several other notable medical researchers, examined and reviewed the organ and reported that its existence has not been detectable until recently. That proves that the anatomic structure that we have been following for centuries is flawed and prone to mistakes. Contrary to earlier notions, this new organ isn’t complex and fragmented into several structures, but is rather one continuous organ.

The groundbreaking research conducted by medical students last year highlighted the existence of the mesentery as a separate organ. It’s existence and definition has also been updated in the most prestigious and accurate series of medical textbooks, Gray’s Anatomy.

The mesentery is actually a double fold of peritoneum, which is basically the lining surrounding your abdominal cavity, which connects the wall of the abdomen to the intestine and keeps all the organs secured in their place.

Leonardo da Vinci was the first person to describe and indicate the presence of the mesentery, however, his prediction was largely ignored for hundreds of years. The researchers who attempted to study this organ over the last century believed that it was a fragmented organ broken down in several structures, and declared it as insignificant.

In 2012, Dr. Coffey and his peers conducted several thorough microscopic examinations to view the structure of the mesentery and their research revealed that it is in fact one continuous organ. In the last four years, they conducted a great deal of research to accumulate evidence to validate the existence of the mesentery as a separate and distinct organ. And their most recent research has validated its classification.

However, this new discovery does not change the structure or anatomy of the human body that we’ve studied all these years in any way. But medical researchers are highly optimistic that this new discovery will pave the way for groundbreaking development and treatments for several ailments. Now, the abdominal disease can be categorized with this organ in mind, and several new cures are also being formulated.

Medical researchers are engaged in investigating the roles and responsibilities that the mesentery plays within the body along with its role in abdominal illnesses. Now that the structure and the anatomy of the new organ have been fully researched, medical science is now focused on its functions. Once we understand its roles and functions, we will be able to examine its abnormal functioning and that will help us understand the role it plays when attacked by a disease. Eventually, this will lead to a whole new field of mesenteric science.

This reminds us that regardless of how advanced and modern the developments of science may be, there are still certain aspects that we are unfamiliar with and need to explore. Even within the human body, there are still new discoveries to be made.

  1. Interesting, but a stretch-kidney failure alone is primary to passing protein and memory events correlation.
The brand new absorption organ of the small intestinal tract is bogus if DaVinci described it first.
